Change of Mind

It’s so important to me that you are happy with your purchase! I know it can sometimes be tricky shopping online, so you are most welcome to request a return for change of mind within 5 days of receiving your item. Why such a quick turnaround? All D&P millinery designs are handmade by myself – each piece takes several hours to make, and having stock out of the business, especially during peak periods, can really hurt. Thank you for understanding!

To request a return or exchange:

  • Email Emily at enquiries@derbyandpower.com to request a return address.

  • Postage costs for change of mind are at the buyer’s expense. Once sent, please advise the tracking number to enquiries@derbyandpower.com

  • Your refund will be issued, or exchange dispatched, upon the return of stock in its original condition.

  • Orders which have exceeded the 5 day return period may be eligible for a credit note exchange. Please contact me to discuss your options.

  • Returns / exchanges are not possible on custom orders. If you require adjustments to your custom order please contact me.

Faulty Returns

Please rest assured that all D&P designs are carefully checked before dispatch for any faults. We’re all human though! So if you do pick up on a fault, please contact me immediately so that I can resolve the situation for you as soon as possible.

To request a return or exchange:

  • Email Emily at enquiries@derbyandpower.com to describe the fault and request a return address, within 5 days of receiving the item. Where possible please send photos of the fault. If you require a replacement urgently please also let me know – I’ll do everything I can to help!

  • Postage charges for the return of faulty goods will be reimbursed by Derby & Power within 7 business days.

  • Postage charges for the replacement of faulty goods will be waived.

  • Faulty goods are defined as products which are structurally insufficient for their intended purpose. All goods are packaged safely for delivery - any damage caused by third party delivery companies is not covered under the returns policy. All goods are delicate and should be handled with care as per care instruction - Derby & Power reserves the right to refuse returns where damage is caused by poor care.

CUSTOM MILLINERY

How do I go about requesting a custom design?

Step one is to get in contact, either via email or via the contact page. You might have an idea based on one of my existing designs, or you may want something totally original – either is fine! Feel free to send through any inspiration images you might have, or even photos of your dress or other accessories. I’m here to help with design suggestions too!

Once we’ve had a bit of a chat about what you’re after, I’ll put together a design option brief to give you some visual suggestions. You can pick and choose which elements you like until we settle on a final design.

I’ll then send you progress reports as I work through your custom piece. These reports will include lots of photos for your comments and approval before I move on to the next stage.

How much will it cost?

The price is determined by the time required to make the piece, and the cost of materials. As a general guide, custom designs are priced in accordance with like items from the existing collection, with a 10% surcharge to cover the additional communication required. Feel free to let me know if you have a budget and I can make design suggestions in accordance. I will be able to give you a rough quote up front, and a final quote once the design is agreed upon. A 50% deposit is required to lock in your order, with the balance payable prior to shipping.

How long will it take?

The turnaround time will depend on the design itself, whether I need to order additional materials, and where your order sits in the current queue. Pop your ideal delivery date in your initial email to me and I’ll do everything I can to make it work! Please note that custom orders can only be accepted on a case by base basis, depending on your design requirements, and available production time.

GENERAL FAQ

Gift Cards

Gift Cards are available to purchase here. All Gift Cards are in Australian Dollars, and are valid for 3 years from the purchase date. Gift Cards are dispatched to the recipient instantly via email - you will not receive a physical Gift Card. Gift Cards are redeemable by applying your unique voucher code at the checkout.

How do I care for my Derby & Power design?

Please refer to individual product listings for detailed care instructions. Care cards are included with all home textile purchases.

Are all Derby & Power designs handmade?

All millinery designs are 100% handmade - I design and hand-make each and every piece right here in Melbourne. All home textile pieces are originally hand painted by myself, before being ethically and sustainably printed in Indonesia.

The millinery design I want is sold out – can you make another?

It will depend on whether I still have the required materials available, but in general, yes I can re-make a design for you. Just shoot me an email letting me know which design you’re after and when you will need it by, and I’ll get back to you ASAP. I don’t charge any extra for re-makes ;)

I’ve found a millinery design I like, but I’d prefer it in another colour, is that possible?

Of course! The turnaround time will depend on whether I have the alternative colour(s) on hand, or if I need to source them. Shoot me an email to let me know what you’re after and I’ll get back to you ASAP. I don’t charge any extra for customisation, however if we need to source new colours/materials this may add a little extra to the price.

Can you offer millinery styling advice?

Absolutely – I love seeing my customer’s outfits come together! You are most welcome to email me images of a dress / accessories etc, along with your budget, and I will make a few suggestions for you. If you can let me know whether you’re looking for something simple or statement, or symmetrical or off-centre, this will also help me to make recommendations ;)

Can you send me some additional images of a particular design to help me decide?

Not a problem. I can send you extra close ups, different angles, images of the piece being worn, and video footage if you would like. Just email me and let me know which design(s) you'd like to see more of.

Do you offer pick-up?

It may be possible to arrange a Melbourne pick-up. Please email me to discuss your options.

Do you have a store I can visit?

I occasionally open pop-up stores and attend design markets. Make sure you’re signed up to receive the newsletter, and are following along on Instagram, for updates on where the next pop-up will be!

Do you work with stylists / media / influencers / collaborators?

Definitely – I love joining forces with others in the industry. If you’d like to work together just email me your thoughts and I’ll get back to you ASAP.

Are your designs available for wholesale?

Yes – feel free to email me to begin a discussion. Please keep in mind that all millinery wholesale orders are made to order, so the sooner you get in touch with me the better!
